BOWLING GREEN, KY - Kenneth Ray Whitlow passed away February 14, 2012. He was born in Scottsville, KY July 14, 1933 and graduated from Allen County High School and later moved to Bowling Green in 1955.
He was the son of Fletcher Whitlow and Toy Belle Blankenship Whitlow and is preceded in death by both parents and one sister, Nell Ruth Mays and three brothers, Curtis Whitlow, Ralph Whitlow, and LeRoy Whitlow, all of Scottsville.
He loved spending his days with his wife Jennetta, working in the yard. He retired from Western Kentucky Gas/Atmos where he was a service technician. He treasured playing with his grandchildren. He was a fan of all the sports teams, band, cheerleading and any other event his children and grandchildren were involved in. He rarely missed an event. He also enjoyed Southern gospel music, and singing and playing his guitar in church. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by Jennetta Wood Whitlow, his wife of 57 years; one daughter, Gina Whitlow Vervilles and her husband Andy Vervilles; one son, Brad Whitlow and his wife Michelle Wallace-Whitlow; eight grandchildren, Hope Vervilles Kubala and her husband Steve, Brock Vervilles, John Kenneth Vervilles, Taylor Whitlow, Mason Whitlow and God child, Hope Lee, and Krystal Henning and her husband Chris
Brittany Robbins; five great grandchildren, Grace, Noelle and Sam Kubala, Aidan Henning, and Will Henning; and his beloved pets, Cookie and Greta. He was also a supportive foster parent.
Visitation will be Friday, February 17, 2012, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral will be Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 12 noon in the Chapel of Living Hope Baptist Church (formerly Holy Spirit Chapel) with visitation on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery #2. Arrangements are entrusted to J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
