BOWLING GREEN, KY - Leroy James, 81, of Oakland, passed away Feb. 14, 2012, at Edmonson Care and Rehab Center in Brownsville, KY.
He was son to the late George Thomas James and Hettie Cora Cowles and attended school in Edmonson County. He worked for Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co., Firestone Textiles, and retired as a farmer in Warren County. He was a member and a deacon of the Oakland Baptist Church, and he was also a Mason.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Betty Marshall James, and one sister Wilma Ruth Clagett of Elizabethtown, and three sons and their spouses, Kenneth and Lori James of Bowling Green, Keith and Carolyn James of Bowling Green, Kirby and Vanessa James of Bowling Green. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Friday at Hardy & Son Funeral Homes, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Masonic service at 7:00 p.m.
