BOWLING GREEN, KY - Eugene Wilson, 81, of Bowling Green passed away February 19, 2012 at the Hospice Center of Southern KY.
He was the son of the late Wilbur Lawrence Wilson and Nannie Hazel Smith and husband of Bonnie Jean Wilson. He retired in 1996 after 50 years of service as a mechanical engineer for Rockwell Automation. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Eugene was a faithful member of West End Church of Christ and was a proud Conservative Republican. His hobby was history from the beginning of time until now and he amassed a large collection of books. He will be forever in the hearts of his family who will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Bonnie Jean Wilson; 2 daughters, Deborah Fowler and husband William of Houston, TX; Diana Duncan and husband Lawrence of Bowling Green. Also surviving are 2 granddaughters, Sarah Elstrod Ellis and husband Jason of Waco, TX; Stephanie Duncan Black & husband David of Lexington, KY; 2 great grandsons, Kaeden and Korben Ellis; 2 sisters, Joan Hartman of Bradenton, FL; Virginia Weger of Dayton, OH.
Funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 23 at J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel with visitation from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 22 at the funeral home.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son.
