Ohio County EaglesHARTFORD, Ky. (9/29/17) — Ohio County will look to shake off its first loss in the 2017 season when it visits McCracken County for a Class 6A, District 1 game tonight.

Henderson County dealt Ohio County its first loss in Week 5, rolling past the Eagles 48-7 on Friday, Sept. 22.

Ohio County is 5-1 overall and 0-1 in Class 6A, District 1. The Eagles own wins over McLean County, Hopkins County Central, Hancock County, Grayson County and Breckinridge County.

Ohio County has relied heavily on the pass thus far in the 2017 season. Through Ohio County's first five games, quarterback Heath Simmons had already passed for 1,502 yards and 22 touchdowns.

During the same five-game stretch, Nick Morris had amassed 532 receiving yards and eight touchdowns for the Eagles.

McCracken County is 2-4 overall and 1-0 in the district. The Mustangs have defeated rival Paducah Tilghman and Daviess County. McCracken County has dropped games to Northeast (Tenn.), Graves County, Mayfield and Glenbard North (Ill.).

Quarterback Elijah Wheat is leading the Mustangs' offensive charge. Wheat has completed 81-of-143 passes for 698 yards and six touchdowns with four interceptions.

TaeShawn Allen paces McCracken County on the ground. Allen has rushed 100 times for 545 yards and five touchdowns.

As a team, McCracken County has rushed for 1,339 yards.

Defensively for the Mustangs, Kiael Waldon has recorded five interceptions.

Kickoff for the Ohio County-McCracken County football game is set for 7 p.m..
