Pedley’s Predictions Week 3

basic football4 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (9/6/13) – Week 3 is championship week for Owensboro Catholic and Owensboro High, but it is also big game for Daviess County and Apollo. The Panthers and the Eagles will battle to get their first win, while the City-County Championship will be decided whenever the Red Devils and Aces battle at Rash Stadium.

The first game to be previewed will be Daviess County and Apollo. This game will let one team gain momentum, while the other team will fall to 0-3. Daviess County has made big mistakes that have cost them, while Apollo has struggled in both games and ended up losing to Catholic and Owensboro by large margins.

For Apollo to win they must be able to stay close and take advantage of Daviess County’s mistakes. Apollo will have to contain Luke Bailey’s ability to run and throw. For Daviess County to win they will have to take advantage of a short fields and score when in the red zone. Prediction: The Panthers defense will play strong again and will stop the Eagles. If Daviess County doesn’t turn the ball over, they will win this game 28 – 7.

Owensboro Catholic will play at Owensboro High School for the City-County Title. This game will feature two dangerous teams with the ability to score on every play. If Catholic contains Owensboro’s speed and hold onto the ball, the Aces will win their third consecutive title. If Owensboro is able to turn the Aces over and gets big plays they will win quite easily. Catholic’s defense will come up big against the Devils and will hold off a late surge to win. Prediction: The final score will be 32 – 28 for OC.
