Owensboro Faces Strong Battle Before Playoffs

basic football4 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (10/31/13) – The 7 – 2 Owensboro Red Devils played their best game of year last week against Hopkins County Central. This week, the Red Devils will face a much stronger opponent in Henderson County (7 – 2).

Owensboro Head Coach Joe Prince was really proud how his team played last week. He wanted his players to control all three facets of the game. Prince got just that. Owensboro’s defense scored the first touchdown. The Devils also scored a touchdown off a punt return.

Owensboro went on to defeat Hopkins County Central 43 – 8.

Henderson will present a much bigger challenge for the Red Devils. The Colonels will be able to match Owensboro’s physical play.

“We can’t let them be the more physical team. We just can’t let that happen.” Coach Prince told SurfKY News.

The biggest key for the game against Henderson is for Owensboro to play aggressively. Henderson will spread out and move the ball around.

Henderson will travel to Owensboro High School to take on the Red Devils. The game will kick off at 7 p.m.
