Will Foreman fired an even-par 72 as Daviess County finished runner-up in the talent-heavy South Warren Invitational at Kenny Perry's Country Creek Golf Course on Saturday. As a team, Daviess County shot a 309.
Also in action for Daviess County, Jesse Holton turned in a 77 and Sam Wilkerson and Daniel Love each delivered an 80 for the Panthers. Union County won the tournament's team title with a 300.
The boys' high school golf tournament featured 20 teams. Hancock County, another area team in the tournament, finished 16th with a 353. Hancock County golfers in the invitational tournament were Tanner Staples (81), Garrett Crabtree (86), Kolten Cheek (92) and Ryan Price (94).
Individually, Glasgow golfer Chase Landrum was the tournament's medalist with a 67. Landrum excelled throughout the South Warren Invitational, one of the state's most competitive early-season high school golf tournaments.Boys' and girls' high school golf teams from throughout the area will continue regular-season competition this week.
