Sacred Heart Ranked First, Owensboro Catholic 13th in Girls' Soccer Poll

soccer-surfOWENSBORO, Ky. (8/18/14) — Sacred Heart, runner-up in the state last season, occupies the top spot in the Kentucky High School Girls' Soccer Coaches Association Preseason Top 25 Poll.

Notre Dame, which blanked Sacred Heart 2-0 to win the 2013 state championship, ranks second in the poll. The remainder of the Top 10 portion of the preseason poll features Tates Creek (3), Oldham County (4), Lexington Catholic (5), Assumption (6), Scott County (7), West Jessamine (8), Bourbon County (9) and Manual (10).

Owensboro Catholic is ranked 13th in the preseason poll. Other teams in the rankings include Marshall County (11), Greenwood (12), Christian Academy (14), Elizabethtown (15), Woodford County (16), South Oldham(17), Highlands (18), Henry Clay (19), Bishop Brossart (20), Boyle County (21), Graves County (22), Paul Dunbar (23), Lexington Christian (24) and Newport Central Catholic (25).

The 2014 Kentucky girls' high school soccer season will get underway today.
