Lego Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Ghostbusters the Movie

LEGO 2014UNITED STATES (2/17/14) — Danish toy-company Lego has revealed to fans its first collection of the 1984 smash hit, “Ghostbusters” with a special edition Ghostbuster Lego set, that includes the iconic ECTO-1 car and the four comedy heroes for the films 30th anniversary.

The idea originated on Lego’s “CuuSoo" site, where fans had the chance to submit potential sets for consideration by Lego’s board.

Designer Brett Waller, submitted his idea, including an Ectomobile car and minifigs of Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore, and everyone’s favorite ghost, “Slimer.”

The 508-piece set features the four minifigs with their hunting backpacks, paranormal detection equipment and the Ghostbusters logo.

There has not been a release date or price set just yet, but the Lego set will be released later this year.
