fall bass classic 2012Photo from www.fallbassclassic.comMADISONVILLE, Ky. (9/26/13) – On Saturday, September 28, the Hopkins County Bass Club will be accepting entries at 4:30 a.m. at the Lyon County ramp in Kuttawa on Lake Barkley.

There will be a $90.00 entry fee per boat including $10.00 for the big bass pot. Anyone who brings in a new children’s toy or a children’s book that is valued at $10.00 will also be entered for a drawing for free entries for next year’s tournament.

“Our club has been in existence for over 40 years, currently has 28 members and we have been holding this buddy open tournament to raise money for our charitable efforts during the year,” said Randy Workman, Tournament Director. “We mainly focus on helping at Thanksgiving and Christmas but also step up when there is a sudden appropriate need in the Western Kentucky area. Over the years our club has raised and given back over $75,000 to our community with overwhelming support from our sponsors and friends that donate or take an ad in our event booklet.”

Fishing will start in the order of registration at “safe light” which means barring fog from 6:15 a.m. – 6:30 a.m., and will end at 3:00 p.m. All fish will be released back into the lake.

There is a guaranteed $3,000 first place prize which includes a $1,500 Ranger certificate redeemable for cash at Jet-Marina.

“We have many members who volunteer their time to put this on, shop for food and gifts, wrap presents, make deliveries - and none of it would be possible without our sponsors' support,” said Workman.

For more information about this event you can contact Randy Workman at 270-322-2637 or visit their website at www.fallbassclassic.com.
