Bluegrass Food Truck Association Endorses Modified Food Truck Pilot Program

bluegrass food truck 300LEXINGTON, Ky (6/20/13) – The Bluegrass Food Truck Association(BFTA) is pleased to announce our support of the modified Food Truck Pilot Program being presented by Councilwoman Shevawn Akers at the City Council meeting tonight.

“This program presents a compromise that should enable food trucks to operate using metered parking spaces in Lexington,” said Sean Tibbetts, Director of Bluegrass Food Truck Association.

Many Lexingtonians have already enjoyed the faire offered by local food trucks. The BFTA hosts multiple events and supports food trucks on private property throughout the city.

“The entire community will benefit from making that happen, even those who rarely visit downtown,” said a recent Kentucky.com Editorial. “Food trucks should be part of that scene and the only way to figure how to integrate them into our downtown is to test the waters with a pilot program.”
