basic football2 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (9/5/13) – Owensboro Catholic escaped last Friday against the Daviess County Panthers. While the final score was 37 – 13, the Panthers had the Aces on their heels for most of the game. It was not until late when Catholic would put the game away with a couple of late touchdowns.
 
Head Coach John Edge was not pleased with their game, but he was proud how his team fought through adversity.
 
“Defense has done a great job getting better, but the entire team must continue to improve,” he said. Coach Edge said he was also proud of how the offensive line blocked better last week, and pointed out the Aces had over 200 rushing yards.
 
This week the Aces must be prepared for Owensboro’s great athletes as this game will decide the City-County Championship. Winning the title would also mean three consecutive titles for Owensboro Catholic. Coach Edge’s keys to winning this week are not giving up big plays and eliminating turnovers. He explained how the Red Devils thrive off turnovers, so he expects the Aces to do a good job holding onto the ball.
 
The Owensboro Catholic Aces will go to Rash Stadium to battle the Red Devils. The game will kick off at 7 p.m.
