rhoads 02 300FRANKFORT, Ky. (8/23/13) – Under the new redistricting plan passed by the Kentucky General Assembly today (Aug. 23), Senator Jerry P. Rhoads will continue to represent Hopkins, Muhlenberg and Ohio counties, along with Butler County. Butler was added to the 6th Senatorial District to reflect the population changes in the district.

“Redistricting is always complex, but I am pleased with the plan that we arrived at in a bipartisan manner,” said Senator Rhoads, D-Madisonville. “I am happy to still be representing Hopkins, Muhlenberg and Ohio counties and look forward to representing Butler County as well. I think Butler County will be a good fit with the rest of the 6th District.”

Senator Rhoads has represented the 6th Senate District since 2003 when he was elected to the Kentucky General Assembly.

During his tenure in the legislature, Senator Rhoads, who was elected Minority Whip in 2009, has been a strong advocate in such areas as transportation, education and energy.

“I am grateful that the good folks of Hopkins, Ohio and Muhlenberg counties have allowed me to represent them now for almost 11 years,” Senator Rhoads said. “I have enjoyed working with our leaders and public officials to get many good things accomplished for the district and I will work just as hard for Butler County.”

Senator Rhoads encourages his constituents as well as his community leaders and local officials to keep in touch with him. “As I prepare for the upcoming session, the input from the folks back home will be important as I make decisions that could influence the 6th district,” he said.

Senator Rhoads can be contacted by calling the toll free legislative line at 1-800-372-7181 or by e-mailing him at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
