Western Kentuckians Plan Yard Sale to Help Heal Haiti

plumtree 500

SOUTH CAROLLTON, Ky. (7/2/13) – Numerous Western Kentucky residents are preparing to return to the earthquake ravished Caribbean island of Haiti, where more than 200,000 were killed in January of 2010, and thousands more remain homeless, hungry, and in dire need almost four years later.

In an effort to raise the final $3000.00 needed to cover the costs of transportation, beans and rice, children's vitamins, and other necessities, area residents are holding a “Help Haiti Yard Sale” this Saturday, July 6 , at the South Carrollton Community Center, from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Browse through all types of items, at yard sale low prices, and at the same time help these dedicated mission members reach their necessary amount needed to make this mission a reality.

You can also help by stopping by Poole's Pharmacy Care in Owensboro, Livermore, or Central City and purchase a bottle of children's vitamins. This is one of the major needs for children now living on one meal every other day.

When you buy one bottle and donate it to the Help Haiti relief mission, Poole's will donate an additional two bottles. According to those who have made previous trips to Haiti, vitamins for small children are one of the most important items needed to help children dealing with malnutrition from receiving one meal every other day.

These are two easy ways you can do your part to Help Heal Haiti, as mission members prepare to leave in mid-July to assist in feeding, giving medical attention, and sharing the Gospel of Christ

In the weeks to come, SurfKY News will bring our readers touching observations of local Christians who have seen the suffering on past trips, along with others making their first journey.

Find out more about how you can help by calling Bellevue Baptist's mission coordinator at 270-685-5103.
