Accident Injury 01 300WHITE PLAINS, Ky. (8/21/13) – On Tuesday, August 20, Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Deputies responded to a report of an accident in front of 156 Greenville Road in White Plains at approximately 4:02 PM.
Once on the scene, Deputies found that a 2002 Chevy pickup truck, operated by 66-year-old Harold Broyles of Graham, had pulled out of a driveway in the path of a 2004 Dodge Neon, operated by 35-year-old Liberty Cooley of Earlington in Hopkins County. Cooley was traveling west on Greenville Road at the time of the impact. Cooley’s vehicle struck the driver’s side door of Broyles vehicle. As a result of the impact, Broyles was thrown from the vehicle.
Both Broyles and Cooley were injured in the accident, along with two juvenile passengers in Cooley’s vehicle, a 10-year-old female and a 1-year-old male. All involved were transported to Baptist Hospital in Madisonville for treatment. Cooley and the male juvenile were listed in stable condition and Broyles and the female 10-year-old were both listed in critical condition. Broyles was flown to St. Mary’s Med Center for follow-up treatment.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the White Plains Volunteer Fire Department.
