MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (1/21/14) Snow days during winter may be popular with students, but it could mean spending some nice spring days in class, according to Muhlenberg County School Superintendent Randy McCarty.
McCarty told SurfKY News that due to the number of school cancellations for the 2013-2014 academic year, the last day of school is now May 22.
"Of course, that could change," McCarty said. "We have missed seven days of school so far. We have no word as of 12 p.m. today concerning school closings for Wednesday. Some of the back roads could be a problem, but we have made no decisions yet."
McCarty added that the last day for the faculty will be May 23.
Mustang sports fans are hoping the bad weather will clear out in time for this Friday's Muhlenberg Mustang basketball game against Ohio County, but that's all up in the air at this point.
