Cross Country Results

Trojans CrossCountry 300WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (9/5/13) - Webster County senior Iszack Whitsell finished sixth overall in last Tuesday’s season-opening cross country meet, the Kentucky-Indiana Border Clash held at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro.

Evansville Harrison’s Brogan Armannd won the boys 5K in 16:02.03 while WC’s Whitsell lead all local runners with a 16:31.15 clocking.

Webster finished 14th in the team standings, with Daviess County winning the team title in the field of 26. Chanler Cole paced the Lady Trojans in 77th position, followed by Kendra Griffin in 78th.

Bowling Green won the girls team title while a very young Lady Trojan squad placed 16th in the field of 24 girls’ teams.

Madisonville Invitational
Iszack Whitsell battled with long-time foe Chase Geary of Muhlenberg County Saturday during the annual Madisonville Cross County Invitational held on the campus of Madisonville-North Hopkins.

The two rivals blew away the field with Geary winning round one of the early season. He won the 5K race in 16:25, followed closely by WCHS senior Whitsell with a 16:37 clocking.

Madisonville won the team title for the first time in eight years, taking three of the top 10 finishers. Webster finished third in the team standings.

Other finishes for the Trojans included Ronin Periard (22nd, 19:15), Mitchael Shelton (23rd, 19:17), Preston Glazebrook (33rd, 19:46), Nolan Pettit (39th, 20:06), Jeremy Garrett (42nd, 20:22), Robert Daugherty (48th, 20:42), Canaan Floyd (54th, 21:00), Spencer McCormick (77th, 22:39), Reece Clayton (92nd, 23:34), Joe Chancellor (96th, 24:20), Poom Prasopsukh (110th, 29:32).
