Pogue's Automotive Annual Picnic Brings Crowd

14743662429 2df5b6bfc1 zPOWDERLY, Ky. (8/15/14) — Pogue's Automotive Annual Picnic brings out the Greater Muhlenberg Chamber of Commerce crowd along with family and friends Thursday, Aug. 14 at the Muhlenberg Ag Center in Powderly.

The picnic program focused on Muhlenberg County Schools and some of its high-achieving students and teams.

Leading the entertainment for the evening were Hope Mohon, a sophomore at Muhlenberg County High School; Hannah Brown, junior; and, Melanie Smith, teacher.  The three performed  song and dance number, and Mohon and Brown performed solo acts.  

The Muhlenberg County State Championship Fishing Team were also recognized. The team is the first state champion team from the county since Muhlenberg North and Muhlenberg South consolidated.  The coaches remarked on how hard the team worked and the long hours it took to win the championship.

The highlight focus was on the Muhlenberg Counties Archery Team.  At just 2 years old, the team traveled to the World Archery Championship in Wisconsin placing 13th in the world.  The coach remarked on the hard work of his team and its remarkable achievement in such a short period of time.
