UPDATE: HENDERSON, Ky. (9/24/17) — A man taken into custody earlier this afternoon after a police chase in Henderson faces numerous charges.

Several agencies from two states are investigating what initially began as an alleged robbery in Evansville.

The man identified in relation to an Evansville vehicle heist investigation, Daniel Decosta, 31 of Boonville, allegedly took a vehicle and fled toward Henderson, authorities indicated.

Decosta stopped along the 4,000 block of Waterworks Road, allegedly broke into a home and stole keys to a truck parked there. Henderson Police Department caught up with the suspect at Watson Street and U.S. 41, and then a pursuit followed.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the break-in and vehicle theft at Waterworks Road. Arrest records indicate Decosta was intoxicated around the time of the pursuit. A jail photo was not available.

He is listed as being held in Henderson County Jail on charges of DUI, driving on a suspended license, second-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking (over $10,000), receiving stolen property (over $10,000), first-degree criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an accident and first-degree fleeing or evading police in a vehicle.

Evansville Police Department also anticipates additional charges will be brought against Decosta.
