asphalt 2016HENDERSON, Ky. (10/10/17) — The city of Henderson reported crews continue to work on miscellaneous street repairs in various areas, and the work is expected to take through the end of the week to complete.

South Elm Street, from Cardinal Lane to Rudy Avenue, will be closed Wednesday morning-Friday afternoon for major street repairs. The road will be impassable for all traffic as the excavation spans the width of the road.

Weather permitting, work schedule along other streets is listed below:

Paving Wednesday, Oct. 11
North Ingram Street from Fifth Street to Sixth Street
North Alves Street from Sixth Street to Short Seventh Street
North Alvasia Street from Fifth Street to Short Seventh Street
North Green Street from Richardson Avenue to the end

Paving Thursday and Friday, Oct. 12-13
Book Street from 10th Street to 10th Place
Kimsey Lane by the West Entrance to Redbank Towers
Browns Drive from Watson Lane to the End
Walker Drive from US 41 North to the End
Robin Road from US 41 North to North Elm Street
South Elm Street from Cardinal Lane to Rudy Avenue

Also, an overnight closure is still in place on South Green Street, from Washington Street to Sand Lane, while Henderson Water Utility makes water line repairs.

That closure will resume 6 p.m. today and Wednesday. The street will reopen each morning after crews have had a chance to backfill the road cuts with stone and cold patch. The cold patch will be replaced with more permanent asphalt as soon as possible.

If weather cooperates, the project could be completed by Thursday morning, according to HWU.
