letsglowcrazy5k OctoberHENDERSON, Ky. (10/12/17) — Henderson County Schools announced its Let’s Glow Crazy 5k is set to take place Oct. 28 at Colonel Stadium, 2424 Zion Road, Henderson. 

This community wellness event, typically held each May, is a fall occassion this school year. The event will kick off at 4:00 p.m. with a wellness fair, activities for children and a kid’s fun run.

The 5K Run/Walk will start at 6:00 p.m. and new this year, a 1-mile fun run/walk will be held at 6:30 p.m. The course is outside and inside Henderson County High School and includes glowing Halloween effects.

Health and wellness information booths, vendor giveaways, and free refreshments will be available to everyone who attends. The registration fee for the 5K and 1 mile course is $10 for adults and $5 for children and includes a T-shirt and glow gear.

Race T-shirts will only be guaranteed to those who register before Oct. 17, school officials said.

Henderson County Schools strategic plan includes creating a school culture that is embraced and promoted by the citizens of Henderson County and promoting health and wellness initiatives. Its purpose is to bring together staff and the community for an evening of fun and fellowship. Their goal is to keep costs at a minimum to give everyone the opportunity to participate in a race.

Registration forms are available at the Henderson County Board of Education Office (1805 Second Street) and online at www.henderson.kyschools.us. Businesses and community organizations interested in participating in the wellness fair are asked to call 270-831-5000 to reserve a booth.
