jeanne hampton lt governorKENTUCKY (9/25/17) — Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton completed a tour of 25 counties across Kentucky last week to meet with high school students and promote the 2018 Lt. Gov.’s Entrepreneurship Challenge.

The LGEC is a pitch competition for all Kentucky high school students grades 9-12. Its goal is to introduce students to a realistic business environment, highlight entrepreneurial values, promote business ownership, and encourage lifelong learning.

The objective of the tour was to increase awareness of the LGEC and build upon the momentum of an impressive first year. The inaugural year of the competition included 700 students, 500 adult mentors, and over $80,000 in scholarship prizes.

“Visiting with Kentucky’s incredible students, teachers, and administrators is one of the highlights of being Lt. Governor,” said Hampton. “There is genuine excitement around this competition in local communities hoping to send a team to the Finals and bring home the first-place prize.”

The tour took place over a six-week period and included the following counties: Logan, Franklin, McCracken, Livingston, Lyon, McLean, Breckinridge, Meade, Metcalfe, Adair, Carroll, Gallatin, Robertson, Bracken, Pendleton, Lewis, Mason, Fleming, Menifee, Bath, Martin, Magoffin, Jackson, Letcher and Knott.
