Accident with Injuries East of Dawson Springs

 

traf acc w inj300HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (2/22/12) – On Wednesday, Feb. 22, Kentucky State Police (KSP) responded to the scene of a reported accident on US 62, approximately 5 miles east of Dawson Springs.
 
Once on the scene, Troopers found that Thomas Blyler, age 29 of Greenville, KY, was operating a 1990 International dump truck eastbound on US 62 approximately 5 miles east of Dawson Springs when the passenger side tires dropped off the eastbound shoulder of the roadway. Mr. Blyler attempted to steer the vehicle back onto the roadway, but overcorrected and lost control. It overturned and came to rest upright on the westbound shoulder of the roadway.
 
Mr. Blyler was transported via ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Mr. Blyler was cited to court for the following offenses: Operating CMV without a CDL, No Medical Certificate in Driver’s Possession, Operating CMV without Periodic Inspection, and No Fire Extinguisher.
 
Trooper Nick Rice investigated the crash that occurred on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 8:42 a.m. KSP CVE Officer Larry Johnston and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
