MADISONVILLE, KY (2/16/12)—This afternoon, February 16th, SurfKY News received several reports of a wildcat in the Madisonville, KY area. Interestingly enough, eyewitnesses claimed to have seen the large feline near 707 East Center Street in nearly every account.
Upon firsthand investigation of the area, reporters realized that the wildcat was, in fact, Store Manager Micah Perdue of Madisonville’s newest business—the Wildcat Wearhouse—trying to promote the location’s grand opening event today.
Along with a variety of University of Kentucky (UK) Wildcats clothing for men, women, and kids, the shop offers up exclusive accessories and a fun atmosphere. What’s more, the new location in Madisonville proudly displays several photos from UK’s memorable and lengthy past.
Packed with customers checking out the 40% off grand opening day deals around lunch, the business seems to be off on the proverbial “right foot.”
“I’ve been a fan of UK for years,” says Madisonville resident, Sandra Seaborn, while purchasing a few new shirts at the store. “I’m so excited that this shop is here. I’m sure I’ll be coming in the next time when I need some new UK gear.”
As the company’s official Facebook page explains of the business, “We started this great adventure in 1986 in Lexington, KY. Back then, we were fresh out of college and full of ambition. We started small, mostly printing tee shirts for local businesses and organizations. Over the years we have grown to be one of the largest screen printers in the country! In 1996 we decided to expand into offering fully licensed University of Kentucky apparel. Thanks to all the Wildcat fans across the state, this part of our business grew rapidly into 14 stores state wide! We are Wildcat fans through and through, and we use our passion and creativity to come up with the best tee shirt and apparel designs that can be found anywhere.
