HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (7/28/16) — The Annual Little Miss and Mister Hopkins County Fair Pageant began as 12 couples filled the packed Ballard Center with smiles and waves.

Kamryn McKnight and Cruz Cavanaugh were crowned 2016 Little Miss and Mister Hopkins County Fair Pageant and will represent Hopkins County in Louisville at the Kentucky State Fair Pageant in August.

The couple was sponsored by Cavanaugh Pool & Patio.

Kamryn is the 7-year-old daughter of Josh and Sarah McKnight and Cruz is the 7-year-old son of Shane and Lyndsey Cavanaugh.

First runner-up was Brooklyn Nelson and Will Lynch.

The couples were judged in interview, swimwear, and dress-wear, with interviews being completed off-stage prior to the event.

2015 Little Miss and Mister Mady Harris and Aidan Knight, who placed fifth in the state competition out of more than 70 couples, took their final walk before passing the honor to McKnight and Cavanaugh.

Pageant directors are Kellie Miller and Railey Cardwell and Master of Ceremonies was Trish Noel.

Scoring was by Shelley Utley, CPA of Berry, Kington & Utley, PSC.

A special thank you was given to Catering & Creations and Mark of Distinction for sponsoring the pageant, Mark of Distinction for providing individual contestant flowers and stage décor, Kellie Cardwell Heady for providing the stage chandelier, the Hoover/McCoy Family at Dr. Pepper for providing drinks for the contestants and Country Cupboard for providing dinner to the pageant judges.
