Murder 1 3UPDATE: MADISONVILLE, Ky. (2/3/17) — A 25-year-old man stabbed at a Madisonville residence Thursday night has died.

The alleged attacker was found and charged with murder shortly after.

Madisonville Police Department reported Alex Phebus was still conscious at the 300 block of W. Arch St., where authorities found him at approximately 7:55 p.m.

Phebus was able to describe the assailant before he was whisked away to the hospital by ambulance.

After investigating, police arrested Jaleen Travis Spivey, 21 of Nortonville.

On Thursday night, numerous officers were seen scouring the area in search of the suspect.

Bond has yet to be set for Spivey, who is being held in Hopkins County Jail.

ORIGINAL STORY:

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (2/2/17) — An ambulance rushed away from the scene carrying an apparent assault victim.

Authorities and rescue responded to the residence at 323 W. Arch St., Madisonville around 8 tonight.

Madisonville Police Department officers secured the scene as an investigator arrived. Hopkins County Sheriff's Office deputies were also assisting.

Police have cordoned off an area of the yard next to a church. An unidentified man was apparently assaulted by an unknown individual. It is unknown whether any arrests have been made.

Police were searching for a suspect.
