kiwanis contest 5 19 2017

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (5/19/17) — The Legacy of Play Contest with Kiwanis International is underway.

The contest is sponsored by Kiwanis International and Kiwanis vision partner Landscape Structures. If awarded, the Madisonville City Park would receive $25,000 to use for all-inclusive playground equipment.

Kiwanian Stephanie Townsell is heading the local contest. The city of Madisonville and Madisonville Noon Kiwanis have partnered and submitted a proposal.

Townsell said everyone can vote once per day on the contest website, and the 10 proposals with the highest number of votes on May 31 will advance to the final round of judging, which will be completed by a panel chosen by Kiwanis International.

The winning club will be announced in June.

“We would love to add $25,000 worth of playground equipment to our city park and the focus is on universally inclusive playground equipment where all children are welcome,” said Townsell.

Facebook voting commenced on May 16 and will run through May 31.

Madisonville Noon Kiwanis Club and the city of Madisonville ask all who can to vote once per day at http://bit.ly/2r5r2rx.

“We are trying to get as many votes as possible,” said Townsell
