MADISONVILLE, Ky. (07/31/17) — Nine talented performers competed during the Hopkins County Fair WFMW Talent Show held at the Ballard Convention Center Garden Hall Saturday night.

Dakota Bell won first place and a cash prize of $225.

Bell sang a song that he wrote, “Always Be My Home,” saying he penned the song after finding himself missing his Kentucky home after moving to Florida.

Second place went to Mia and Allysa Bruno, third to Abbey Wade and fourth to Kim Jackson.

Host Danny Koeber said the talent show has been part of the Hopkins County Fair since the 1970s.

Hopkins County showcased a collection of talent at the annual event as the crowd cheered for the act of their choice.

This year, each contestant had eight minutes to perform the song of their choice or perform other talents.

Koeber said the judges had a really tough job selecting a winner.
