DRUG ARRESTS HANDCUFFS 300HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (9/6/17) — Four Hopkins County men greeted with warrants at their homes today face felony level drug trafficking charges following a three-month, multiple agency investigation.

Hopkins County Sheriff Matt Sanderson reports more than a pound of substances believed to be crystal meth worth $47,000 on the street and 131 grams of marijuana were seized along with a large amount of cash, drug paraphernalia and a semi-automatic pistol during searches this morning in Earlington and Madisonville.

Nineteen marijuana plants were plucked and destroyed in Earlington.

Madisonville/Hopkins County Vice/Narcotics Unit and Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations unit received tips from several area residents concerning illegal drug trafficking in Earlington, according to a preliminary press release.

“We had gotten numerous tips about drug activity going on in Earlington,” the sheriff said. “When you have citizens making complaints about illegal trafficking, it just shows you how sick everybody is of drug dealers.”

While serving warrants in Earlington, police found a plot of marijuana, authorities reported. Deputies cut down and destroyed 19 plants. The drug-trafficking investigation extended to two Madisonville residences.

The following individuals charged today are listed below:

Robert S. “Bobby" Rice, 37 of 160 Brown Badgett Loop, Madisonville, was charged with eight counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/meth and convicted felon in possession of a handgun (Class C felonies).

Kenny J. White, 40 of 125 W. Jagoe St., Madisonville, was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/meth (more than 2 grams/second offense)-Class B felony, second-degree fleeing or evading police, tampering with physical evidence and trafficking in marijuana/less than 8 ounces.

Terry G. “Buck” Brown, 38 of 414 Johnson Ave., Earlington, was charged with trafficking in marijuana (8 ounces to 5 pounds) and possession of meth — Class D felonies.

Timothy F. Warner, 31 of 411 E. Farren Ave., Earlington, was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/meth-more than 2 grams (Class C felony/jail mugshot currently unavailable).

“I’ve said from day one if you’re a drug addict, you need to get help,” Sanderson said. “If you’re a dealer, you need prison.”

The sheriff also added, “The drug dealers need to understand, we probably already know your name, and we’ll probably be serving warrants at these homes soon. We’re not going to stop.”

Sanderson pointed out that each individual charged today has an extensive history and they need to receive an extended stay in jail.
