MORTONS GAP, KY - Charles Franklin Covington, 79, of Mortons Gap, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his residence in Mortons Gap.
He was born May 25, 1932 in Mortons Gap, KY to the late Robert Frank Covington and Mabel Dixon Covington. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia P. Covington and his second wife, M. Onalee Covington and one sister, Olive Emogene Covington.
Mr. Covington was a member of the Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in White Plains. He was also a lifelong farmer and an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan.
He is survived by three daughters, Charlotte Milligan of Slaughters; Cynthia (Michael) Creekmur of Nebo and Cheryl (Allen) Covington-Korinta of Nortonville; one son, Cary (Sue) Covington of Madisonville; one sister, Anna Lou (Charles) DeMoss of Mortons Gap; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Elder Charles B. DeMoss officiating with Rev. John Shoulta performing graveside services. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday until the service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Cary Covington, Keith Kittinger, Joshua Creekmur, Andrew Covington, Glen Allen Wiles and Allen Korinta.
Honorary pallbearers will be W.R. Owens, Edward Fox, Dorris Dixon, Bobby Whitfield, Michael Creekmur, Buddy Martin, Chris Pendley, Jared Creekmur, Barrett Korinta, and Brogan Korinta.
