NORTONVILLE, KY - Thomas Carlston (Cowboy) Aldridge, 86 of Nortonville died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at his home.
He was born June 1, 1925 to the late Walter Thomas and Mamie (Fox) Aldridge in Nortonville. As a member of Union Crossroads General Baptist Church his love for the Lord was evident in his actions with the way he always helped with Vacation Bible School and put his love and efforts into making the Crossroads Picnic and Old Fashioned Horse and Wagon Hayride a success for the past 15 years.
"Cowboy" Aldridge was known and respected by many people in the community and will be sincerely missed after 29 consecutive years of participation in the Nortonville Wagon Train Ride. Staying close to his roots Mr. Aldridge not only enjoyed riding and showing horses, but also utilized them for multiple tasks for tending his farm.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grand daughter, Erin Elaine Aldridge.
Survived by his wife of 61 years, Nora Bell (Jarvis) Aldridge; daughter, Janet Whitaker of Nortonville; son, Johnnie (Reginia) Aldridge of Nortonville; and great grandchildren, Michaela, Daniel, and Sidda Leigh Guasp all of Nortonville.
Visitation will be from 5-8pm Thursday and 9-11am Friday at Bandy Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday at 11am at the funeral home with Bro. Jerry Williams officiating and Mike and Charlie Spears assisting. Interment will be at New Salem Cemetery, Nortonville following the service.
Pallbearers will be: David Skimehorn, Mike Spears, Charlie Spears, Fred Jarvis, Bruce Gipson, and O.D. Camplin
