HOPKINSVILLE, KY (2/21/12) – A burglar was just moments from being caught Monday evening at a Koffman Drive residence. According to the Hopkinsville Police report, the incident occurred around 9:30 Monday night.
The reports states that 55-year-old Paulette Johnson was entering through the front door of her home Monday evening. She was talking on the phone with her grandson who was on Lafayette Road. Her grandson could see her back yard and witnessed an individual climbing out of her bedroom window. He told his grandmother to get out of the residence. The grandson then proceeded to run around to the back of her home where he saw the suspect running toward Lafayette Road.
According to the report, the suspect used some type of cutting device to cut the screen to the back bedroom window and then pushed the window open. The suspect was able to stand on top of the heating and cooling unit to reach the window. No property was listed as missing on the report.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately six-feet tall with a slim build. He was wearing all black and estimated to be in his early to mid 20’s. Anyone with information concerning this incident is encouraged to contact the Hopkinsville Police Department.
