HOPKINSVILLE, KY (2/13/12) – Plans for the 2012 Project Graduation are coming together in Christian County. The event is in its 24th year of celebration. Project Graduation is an all-night drug and and alcohol free party honoring the graduates from Christian County High School, Hopkinsville High School, Heritage Christian Academy and University Heights Academy.
This year’s event will be held on the night of the Christian County/Hopkinsville High Schools’ graduation. The graduation date will be determined at the March Board of Education meeting. Project Graduation will again be held at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.
The celebration is successful because of the support of parents and community members. Donations are solicited each year to help fund the event. Project Graduation is chaperoned by parents, therefore parents are encouraged to attend regular planning meetings for the event. According to the school system these meeting dates have been set: February 27, March 12, April 2, April 23, May 8 and May 14. All meetings will be held at the Christian County High School Library at 6 p.m. Any parent wanting to attend Project Graduation must attend at least two meetings.
The annual “Cow Pasture Bingo” will once again be a part of this year’s fund raising activities along with Project Graduation discount cards. Contact any senior from one of the four high schools to purchase either a bingo ticket or discount card. To donate, you can mail your check to:
Project Graduation, P.O. Box 291, Hopkinsville, KY 42241 or call Diane Pyle, Project Graduation Coordinator at 270-887-7053.
