James Deaton, age 67 of Elkton

 

ELKTON, KY - James Deaton, age 67 of Elkton, passed away Thursday evening, at 10:30 February 16, 2012 at the Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes.

Mr. Deaton was born November 2, 1944 in McMinnville, Tennessee, son of the late James K. and Catherine James Deaton. Mr. Deaton was a school teacher, a carpenter and a veteran of the Veitnam War while serving the country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Sharon Grove Church of Christ and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Mr. Deaton is survived by his wife Linda Deaton of Elkton, step mother Doris Deaton of Tullahoma, Tennessee. Daughter Jennifer Pittman of Manchester, Tennessee, step son Troy Burchett of Atlanta, Georgia. Two brothers Jack and mike Deaton of Georgia, two sisters Vicki Deaton of New Mexico and Vivian Tipps of North Carolina. 3 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren.

Visitation with the Deaton family will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 5:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home. Interment will follow at a later date.
