Racers Fall to Arkansas State at Kenlake Tennis Center

 

racers tennis1MURRAY, KY (2/20/12) - The Murray State women’s tennis team fell to Arkansas State, 6-1, at the Kenlake Tennis Center in Aurora, Ky.
 
The Racers (2-3) lone singles point came from freshman Jordana Klein. Klein defeated Janie Nowland at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5. Sophomore Carla Suga fought hard, but fell in three sets to Biljana Miloshevska at No. 4 singles (5-7, 6-2, 6-3).
 
Freshman Carolyn Huerth and Suga combined to earn a 9-7 win at No. 2 doubles over Nowland and Miloshwvska, but MSU lost the doubles point to the Redwolves (4-2).
 
The Racers will return to action Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Kenlake Tennis Center when they host Central Arkansas at 12:30 p.m. The match is the final of six-straight home matches to start the 2011-12 season, with MSU hitting the road for five matches through March 15 before they return to Murray and the Bennie Purcell Outdoor courts, march 18 at noon to face SIU Edwardsville in the start of Ohio Valley Conference play.
