CADIZ, KY (2/20/12) – On Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, the Cadiz Police Department received a report of a truck hitting the Cadiz Eye Clinic at 304 Main Street.
Officer Scott Brown responded to the report and found that someone had reported to the owner of the Cadiz Eye Clinic, Scott Sutherland, that the roof of his building had been struck and damaged. In looking at the damage, it was apparent that a large truck or trailer had struck the roof on the rear of the building, causing extensive damage.
Officer Brown located a witness who, three hours earlier, had observed a tractor trailer back into the building while trying to park on the adjacent property.
The officer located the truck parked behind a large building and made contact with the driver, John Pepper, 25, of Cadiz. Pepper initially denied striking the building. However, parts of the building roof were found embedded in the rear of the trailer.
Pepper was not cited at the time; however charges may be filed at a later date.
