scam alert red2 300PRINCETON, Ky. (5/19/17) — Princeton Police Deparment reported the public should be aware of another scam making the rounds in the area.

Local residents have been receiving phone calls from unknown persons stating that they are requesting money for family members, according to PPD. The caller will say that a family member has been arrested and will use an actual name.

The caller then requests money be transferred for the family member to be released from incarceration.

Police urge residents to avoid responding to the scam phone calls.
