James D. Lockhart, 82 of Murray

 

MURRAY, KY - James D. Lockhart, 82 of Murray, passed away February 21, 2012 at his home.

Born August 4, 1929 in Murray, Mr. Lockhart served in the Korean Conflict while enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Hickory Grove Church of Christ where he served as a teacher and elder. He retired from Tappan following 30 years of service.

Mr. Lockhart is survived by his wife June Brandon Lockhart to whom he was married August 21, 1950; three daughters, Christy Vance, husband Terry of Murray, Cathy Jackson, husband Jimmy of Paducah; Penny Dunn, husband Randy of Almo; step mother, Mildred Lockhart of Nashville; three half brothers, Ricky, Kenneth and Wayne Lockhart all of Nashville; a step sister, Lounell Starks, husband Jerry of Nashville; seven grandchildren, Danny, Timothy and Matthew Hinton, Rebecca Jackson, Susan Jackson Gore, Joshua Dunn, Christina Dunn and seven great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lovie Starks Lockhart.

Funeral services for James Lockhart will be at 11:00AM on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the chapel of Imes-Miller Funeral Home. Virgil Hale will officiate. Burial will follow at the Murray Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors between 5-8PM on Thursday, February 23rd at the funeral home.
