Baptist Health repeats with Most Wired’s Most Improved recognition

baptist health logo 300KENTUCKY (7/18/17) — Baptist Health is a repeat honoree as among the nation’s “Most Wired” hospital systems, according to the 19th annual Health Care’s Most Wired® survey, released last week by the American Hospital Association’s Health Forum.

The health system was recognized in the Most Improved category. This is the second year that the eight-hospital system was recognized for its use of technology to improve communication with and service to patients – from scheduling appointments to sending secure messages to patients about their results.

In October 2015, Baptist Health began rolling out its electronic health records system to its physician offices and hospitals. Baptist Health worked with Epic Systems, used by some of the nation’s largest health systems for electronic health records.

All Baptist Health hospitals, outpatient centers in Kentucky are now using Epic, plus all Baptist Health Medical Group offices. Rollout of the electronic health record was completed in January.

“A majority of physicians unanimously chose the electronic health record we installed, and our launch team worked hard to make the transition a smooth one,” said Tricia Julian, chief information officer for Baptist Health. “We are committed to providing the best information technology environment possible to support our excellent patient care and we are honored to be recognized for our efforts.”

“The Most Wired hospitals are using every available technology option to create more ways to reach their patients in order to provide access to care,” said AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack. “They are transforming care delivery, investing in new delivery models in order to improve quality, provide access and control costs.”

HealthCare’s Most Wired® survey, conducted between Jan. 15 and March 15 is published annually by Health & Hospitals Network. Details of the survey and study can be found in the July issue of H&HN.
