moore arrestDRAKESBORO, Ky. (7/19/17) — A vehicle that made an alleged attempt to evade police crashed into a culvert sending all four occupants to the hospital last night. The driver and two passengers were medically cleared and then taken to jail.

Kentucky State Trooper Curtis Crick attempted to perform a traffic stop at 7:24 p.m. Tuesday on a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am in Drakesboro. Police say the Pontiac failed to stop, accelerated and turned onto Jacksontown Road from 14th Avenue. The vehicle failed to stop at the intersection with Kentucky 176 and the apparently lost control. The vehicle went into a ditch on the south side of the road and struck a large driveway culvert.

The four occupants were transported to Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Russell Young, 48 of Cleaton was transferred to Owensboro Health Region Hospital for further treatment.

The driver, Brandy Moore, 33 of Central City was charged with speeding 26 MPH over the limit, driving under the influence – first offense, first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, wanton endangerment/police officer, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/meth – first offense, third-degree possession of a controlled substance/drug unspecified, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree disorderly conduct, on three bench warrants and a complaint warrant.

Passengers Jeremy Gidcumb, 23 of Drakesboro was charged with public intoxication/controlled substance, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and on a parole violation warrant; Stephanie Stone, 39 of Bremen was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance/meth – first offense and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.

Moore, Gidcumb and Stone were lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
