phillip conwayGREENVILLE, Ky. (9/11/17) — After two Muhlenberg County deputies attempted to stop a vehicle believed to be occupied by a man with active arrest warrants last night near Greenville, the driver led police on a chase.

Muhlenberg Deputy Jakop Smith and K-9 Sgt. Will Ward received information around 10:30 p.m. that the wanted man was in a vehicle on Kentucky 181 North near Greenville. Smith and Ward saw the vehicle on Kentucky 181 near Duvall Chapel Road.

When the deputies activated their lights, the vehicle sped up and traveled on until it eventually stopped near Muhlenberg County High School West Campus.

Smith placed the driver, Phillip Conway, 40 of Bremen into custody and charged him with first-degree fleeing or evading police/motor vehicle, first-degree possession of a controlled substance/meth – second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a DUI suspended license – first offense and reckless driving. He was also served with three bench warrants from Muhlenberg Circuit Court.

Conway’s passenger, Amberly Doll, 31 of Greenville was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and served with a parole violation warrant. Another passenger, Kimberly McDonald, 32 of Powderly was served with a Muhlenberg Circuit Court warrant. The three were lodged in Muhlenberg County Detention Center.

Smith and Ward were assisted by other members of the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department, Greenville Police Officer Brock Mefford and Kentucky State Trooper Sgt. Craig Engler.
