LEXINGTON, KY (5/25/13)--- Those that have died while serving in the military will be remembered and celebrated on Monday with events and ceremonies in the Lexington area.
Calvary Cemetery, located on West Maine Street, from now until Monday presents “Serving God and Country; A Memorial Day Salute To Our Heroes.” From 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. a tribute board and prayer box will be available on the Calvary Cemetery office front porch for family and visitors to post pictures or and comments for their deceased military loved ones. Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville has a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Monday. The service will begin with the West Jessamine High School band playing, which will lead into a speech by the master of ceremonies, presentation of colors, and a guest speaker. Last year, 21,000 people visited the 30-acre camp to pay tribute to those loved ones that have been lost in the line of duty.
