FRANKFORT, Ky. (9/3/13) – Justice and Public Safety Secretary J. Michael Brown announced today that $1.9 million is available for public safety grants through the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Services, Training, Officers, Prosecution (STOP) program. Applications for the funding are due by Oct. 15, 2013. Awards are scheduled to be announced in January 2014.
VAWA STOP grants may be used to support service delivery and related assistance to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and sexual assault.
All applications must be submitted via the online Kentucky Justice Grants Management System (GMS).
Applications and related resources are available by following the links on the Grants Management Branch webpage, http://justice.ky.gov/departments/gmb. New applicants are strongly encouraged to establish a user account and familiarize themselves with the system well in advance of the due date. Please note: validation of new user accounts will take 48-72 hours.
