Fatal Crash on Kings Chapel Road in Trigg County

breakingnews FATALACCIDENT 300TRIGG COUNTY, Ky. (6/11/13) – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a two-vehicle fatality collision that occurred on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at approximately 9:15 A.M. The collision occurred on Kings Chapel Road approximately 4 miles south of Cadiz, KY.
 
Leslie Baker, 26 of Cadiz, KY, was operating a 2002 Ford Explorer southbound on Kings Chapel Road. Mike Wallace, 49 of Cadiz, KY was operating a 1996 Freightliner semi, pulling an empty flatbed trailer northbound on Kings Chapel Road.
 
Preliminary investigation shows that for an unknown reason Baker crossed over the center line and ran off the left shoulder of the roadway and into the path of Wallace’s vehicle, striking the vehicle head on.
 
The Trigg County Coroner pronounced Baker dead at the scene of the collision.
 
Baker and Wallace were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
 
Trooper First Class Chris Smith is continuing the investigation. Trooper Smith was assisted on the scene by the Trigg County Sheriff’s Department, Trigg County EMS, Trigg County Coroner’s Office, Montgomery Fire Department, and Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.
