MAD Flavor Fever Heating Up the Weekend

madflavor 500

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (6/14/13) – The social buzz around Madisonville is currently streaming from the hot wave of arts and entertainment promotion in the area. Madisonville’s first annual MAD Flavor Music Fest 2013 is kicking off this weekend at the Madisonville Fair Grounds and Ballard Convention Center on Arch St. on Saturday, June 15.

The music and arts festival was spawned by Madisonville native Mat Pentecost, who currently resides in Cincinnati, OH. The idea grew from the growing interest and involvement of his peers and kindred artistic spirits who support arts and entertainment in the area as well as economic and tourism promotion in Madisonville.

Pentecost is one of Madisonville’s raised artistic spirits himself who has collaborated with other locals over the years and said that he wanted to showcase and celebrate the hidden talent all throughout Hopkins County and Western Kentucky by producing a festival of arts of all medias where the community could also come and enjoy the venue and experience the talents firsthand.

The MAD Flavor Fest will host musical talents, craft makers, visual artists, food vendors, and with sponsorship by local businesses and non-profit organizations in the community, who are donating their time and efforts for what is hoped to become one of the largest annual attractions for Western Kentucky and Hopkins County.

For those interested in booth rental or volunteering, there will be a meeting at the Madisonville City Park stage on Friday, June 14 at 6:15 p.m. This will be a time for those who have not already done so to register for booth occupation or to volunteer. If you are not able to make it to the meeting, it is advised that you show up at the fairgrounds on Saturday morning for set up, which will be from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Ticket purchases may be made online at a discounted rate prior to the event; however you may also purchase them at the gate on Saturday.
