Kelly 'Little Green Men' Days Concert Will Feature Payton Taylor

little green menHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (6/24/13) – The Kelly Community is proud to announce the Headliner artist for the 2013 Kelly “Little Green Men” Days Festival to be held Aug 16-17 in Kelly, KY. The incredible Payton Taylor will be in concert at 730PM on August 17.
 
Payton Taylor is a Southern New Jersey native who released her debut CD, entitled “Shine,” in August 2011. She is currently working on her second CD project with award-winning producer Lynn Nichols, who has worked with artists such as Amy Grant, Switchfoot, and The Band Perry. She was a finalist in the 2011 Texaco Country Showdown, and has opened for multiple country stars, including Chuck Wicks, Casey James, Pam Tillis, Lorrie Morgan, Collin Raye, and Charlie Daniels. In 2012, she appeared at several major music festivals, such as “Summerfest” in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and “CMA (Country Music Association) Fest” in Nashville, Tennessee. Payton will be available for a ‘meet and greet’ and autographs prior to her concert in the festival artist tent. Information about Payton can be found on her website www.paytontaylor.com.
 
The opening musician for the Payton Taylor concert will be determined at the festival. The first Kelly “Little Green Men” Battle of the Bands will be held during the festival, all day on August 17th. Bands from across the nation, of all genre, will compete during the day and have their music heard by several celebrity judge. The judging panel includes: Pop singer, widely known guitarist, music managers, studio owners and other talents in the music industry. The winning band will have the honor of being the opening act for Payton Taylor that evening, plus a memorable prize package. Prizes include: From the Kelly Community Org., Inc - $500 cash. From Big Matador Studios in Clarksville TN - 30 hours studio time plus professional assistance. From B. Smith Images in Columbia KY - a professional outdoor photo shoot. The Kelly “Little Green Men” Days Festival is an annual festival held in Kelly, KY on the third weekend of August to commemorate the landing of the “Little Green Men” on a Kelly KY farm on August 21, 1955. The festival is from 5-9PM Friday, Aug 16 and 9AM-9PM Saturday, August 17. Many food and craft vendors, rides, special appearances, costume contests, raffles and trivia contests will make for a fun filled weekend for visitors of all ages. Also appearing this year will be the return of the Kelly 38 foot Flying Saucer!
