OCHS Lockdown Lifted

lockdown1 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/28/13) - Owensboro Catholic High School was placed on lockdown earlier this afternoon as a safety precaution. Police say an armed person was reported in the area.
 
In a statement released shortly after noon by Owensboro Catholic High School Principal, Gates E. Settle, he said:
 
"Earlier today, OCHS was notified by (Owensboro Police Department) of a man with a weapon in Moreland Park. We immediately made the decision to put the high school in lockdown mode...As always, our number one concern is always our students and staffs safety and we will always take the needed precautions to insure their safety."
 
Officer Michael Hathaway of the Owensboro Police Department confirmed that the subject has been located. OCHS has lifted its lockdown and the roads in the area have since reopened.
