OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/30/13) – A 28-year-old Owensboro man apprehended in a police search following a reported bank robbery today is in custody on charges of attempted murder and 10 counts of wanton endangerment, among other charges.
Owensboro Police Department Public Information Officer Michael Hathway said Seth Hooks was located in a minivan on a public parking lot when he was taken in for questioning. Based upon the investigation, Hooks was charged in connection with a reported robbery that allegedly took place at 2:15 this afternoon. Authorities said the suspect brandished a handgun and fired a single round before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
In addition to the charges listed above, Owensboro Police also charged Hooks with First Degree Robbery, and the Daviess County Sheriff's Department issued a statement indicating Hooks faces county charges of First Degree Robbery as a result of an separate incident in which deputies allege the weapon used in the bank robbery was stolen from a residence in the 7000 block of Hwy. 405. The Daviess County Sheriff's Department reported Owensboro Police allegedly recovered other items reported stolen in that alleged burglary.
