breakingnews1An Owensboro man is in custody at the Daviess County Detention Center on charges of Possession of a Destructive Device or Booby Trap Device following a joint investigation by the Owensboro Police and Owensboro Fire departments into a report of a structure fire at the Colonel House on Triplett St.

Authorities said they were dispatched to the scene yesterday morning at approximately 8:25, and determined that while there wasn't a structure fire, a large explosion had occurred.

Based on the results of the investigation, police said "it was determined that a home made device had been detonated in the middle of the street."

No injuries were reported.

William Bowlds, 39, was arrested as a result of the investigation but police didn't elaborate on his alleged involvement with the incident.
