accidental shooting 300 copyOWENSBORO, Ky. (2/17/14) – An Owensboro woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries Sunday after her husband accidentally shot her while cleaning a .40 caliber pistol, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said Joshua Blanford called 911 when the gun he was cleaning discharged and struck his wife, Terra, in the leg.

Following interviews with the couple, authorities said the incident was determined to be an accident.

The incident occurred in the 7000 block of Ky. Hwy. 815.
